I‘m very proud—stunned, even—to announce that, after nearly a solid year of effort, thirty-four agent rejections, twelve major revisions, three cover designs, that Diary of an American Boy: A Poet, Athlete, Stud, and a Liar is officially available for purchase!
I kept the acknowledgements in the book to the bare minimum, because there’s no way I could cram all my thank you’s onto a couple pages. So I’ve updated the thank-you list, which can be seen here. I can’t begin to properly say thank you to all of you who’ve encouraged me, spurred me on, or told me that I needed to get my butt in gear.
I can’t wait to dive into the next project, and continue this journey as an author. For all those who’ve known me forever, let me just tell you, this feels like the right path for me. For those who don’t know me, hi. So glad to know you. Please don’t hesitate to send me a note. I’d love to find out more about you.
I’ve published this first edition through Lulu, an amazing publishing service that allows you to order and ship as many copies as you like, to wherever you want. I’m hoping to obtain an ISBN and eventually put the book up for sale on Amazon, Powell’s, etc., but until then I’m limiting the access to Lulu.

I have been reading around on this little site you have here, and I am genuinely impressed, pleased, and entertained with what I have read. I also have the urge to be some kind of writer. I’m still not entirely sure about that, but it’s what I like to do. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that we are all proud of you, and that I will be ordering the book sometime in the near future.

I can’t wait to read your book, Charlie! I just have to wait for my Big Bear to get a job before I can spend on luxuries like books – and right now, books are a luxury. I have been so anxious for you to finish your book and I know it will be great. You’ve got to get that ISBN! Sell it via Amazon, Barnes & Noble – get it out there!
Oh, and when I do read your book, I’ll do a book review on my blog with a link to your book so readers can buy it. I do book reviews all the time.
By the way, where in the world did you get that cover image? It is hilarious.
